Who we are.

How we started…

The vision for Global Orphan Foundation came to our founder, Michele Jackson, during her work with an organization dedicated to researching the root causes of exploitation and trafficking of women and children. Driven by a desire to understand how individuals came to face such hardship, Michele discovered that, for many, their struggles were rooted in past experiences and poverty. Countless children, after aging out of orphanages, were left homeless, hopeless, and without a clear path to independence.

This realization became the seed for Global Orphan Foundation. Michele felt a calling to support children who might never be adopted, children who, in the world's eyes, might be the "forgotten" but are seen by God as cherished and beloved. With the desire to provide these children with love, stability, and hope for a future, Michele envisioned a foundation focused on serving those who are the most vulnerable.

Founded in 2007, Global Orphan Foundation is driven by a profound faith in the value of every child and a commitment to creating loving, faith-centered families. Michele and her husband, Wayne DeVeydt, traveled to some of the poorest regions of the world, witnessing firsthand the plight of children without the security of a home or the comfort of family. Compelled to bring hope and embody God’s love, they established GOF as a family for all who feel called to uplift and serve the world’s most vulnerable children.

“You go into an orphanage in Congo and they don't have clothes or shoes or food. Fifty percent of kids under two years old die in orphanages in Congo - it’s a morgue. It’s not a place where anyone is going to thrive. We want to change that.”
