Wayne DeVeydt

Founder and Board Member

Mr. DeVeydt is co-founder and board member of Global Orphan Foundation. He developed his passion of advocating and caring for orphaned children upon meeting his wife, Michele, who is an International adoption attorney in Indianapolis and co-founder of GOF.  While visiting orphanages across the world for their own adoption journeys, they witnessed the reality that is a Congolese orphanage.  They knew they had to do more to help, and the vision for Bolingo Village was born. 

Wayne is an expert in finance and executive leadership. He is currently the Executive Chairman of the Board of Surgery Partners, Inc. 

Wayne has served as:

• Senior Advisor to the Global Healthcare division of Bain Capital, a global multi-asset alternative asset firm.

• Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) at Anthem, Inc., a health insurance company, and an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. 

• Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. DeVeydt has put a strong focus on philanthropy throughout his adult life.  He has felt a strong calling to make giving back a priority, having a hand in funding charities with a wide range of focuses from education, medical, and of course, orphan care.  He has served on the board for many nonprofit organizations including, Boys and Girls Club of America, Indianapolis Children’s Museum, YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, and Cancer Support Community.  In 2016, Mr. DeVeydt and his wife were honored with the Modern Family Award by the Donaldson Institute in NYC. 

Mr. DeVeydt is the proud parent of 9 children, which includes 2 sons adopted from Democratic Republic of Congo and 2 daughters adopted from Nicaragua, making their beautiful family of 11!
