Update: Campamento Mi Momento 2020

As many of you know, around this time of year, we would typically begin preparing for Campamento Mi Momento (Camp My Moment), a five-day experience for orphaned and at-risk girls in Nicaragua with a focus on leadership and decision-making. However, the Nicaraguan response to COVID-19 has left us with substantial safety concerns. 

The country's leadership did not ban travel or large gatherings; they kept schools, jobs, and church gatherings open as usual. We have made the tough decision not to have Campamento Mi Momento this year. Our choice is out of an abundance of caution for our campers, counselors, and staff safety. We will miss seeing and teaching young women valuable skills this year but are excited to start planning for 2021.
